| Wow! Has it been that long since I last used xanga? I guess it has
been. Where have I been all this time. Oh yeah, finishing Rutgers of
course! Just a brief summary of my last year at Rutgers: same added
stress with a gazillion clubs and finishing my second major and minor!
Yep, I graduated in May with a BA double majoring in History and
Political Science, and minoring in Economics!! That sure was one of the
proudest moments in my life! A month later, my middle brother graduated
high school and he is going to TCNJ to do the pre-med program!
Incase anyone is wondering, I am not going to law school cause I felt I
was not ready for the serious commitment. I was kinda burnt out towards
the end of my Rutgers career and needed a break. However, God and
my family were telling me something. Apparently, this happened
one day when I was watching the World Cup Soccer match between Angola
and Iran. My parents didn't want to see me lazy and idle from school,
and also to not lose my interest of International Relations and
law for six years!! I sure wanted to go to law school, but then again I
didn't feel motivated about law school. Apparently I was getting
letters from NYU and Columbia on their Masters Program in Global
Affairs/International Affairs. I kinda thought about it for a week and
God even told me that I should continue to stay focused and interested
in what I love. I sure as hell don't want to lose it!! So after
thinking about it for a week, I ended up applying to NYU. I missed the
deadline for Columbia, so yeah no hope there. I applied to my "dream
school" that I got denied from four years ago for their undergraduate
program. Did I think I have a chance?? We'll see.
Then, in early July, I got my acceptance letter from the Global Affairs
Program at NYU!!!! "Oh, my God" came out of my mouth when I got the
letter!! I cannot believe I am going to my "dream school" from four
years ago and where their law school is ranked in the top 10!! Get
this, the international law program at NYU Law is ranked No. 1 in the
nation!! I actually plan on doing international law for my grad.
program!! Who knows, I'll meet awesome people in various places and I
already have a friend going to NYU law!! Sweet!!
So yes, in about a month I will be starting the next chapter of my life
in a different atmosphere! Rutgers has always been my home. A
twenty-five minute drive and lots of comfort!! I guess that's the
Jersey thing! Soon, I'll be adding an additional forty-five minutes to
my new home. Yes, I'm commuting for the fall semester, but spring 2007
might be different. Sure, law school was my original choice, but I
didn't have any hope for going to a prestigious law school. Now, I'm
getting my Masters Degree at one of the most prestigious schools in
America!! I can't wait!! Not to mention, I have a weeks worth of
orientation to go by the end of August and also found out I'll be
working as a "NYU Grad Student Welcome Week Leader" I figured I can get
a head start on my leadership skills in a different setting!
Right now, I'm just enjoying the remainder of my summer and getting
ready for the next chapter of my life! NYU will definitely be
different: smaller classes, more expensive (tuition I mean!), meeting
people from all over, and of course, being in the city!! Sure it won't
be like Rutgers, but I'll make the best of it! And yes, at least I'll
have lots of places to hang out at including Chinatown, Little Italy,
and SoHo. Not to mention I can take classes at Columbia University as
well. I'm actually hoping to go to Columbia for my Ph.D. We'll see!
So yes, that's where my next journey lies ahead for me! I sure will
miss the camraderie and memories of Rutgers, but I'll be around! NYU,
here I come!!!
That's it from here! Peace.

| Alright, it's been awhile from xanga, so here I go. I took LSAT's today and it was tough. Nevertheless, I stayed calmed and focused, so lets hope I get a good score. Here's the kicker: three out of my five sections were on Arguments. Wow, good thing I had my big book of Arguments from Princeton Review that I've been practicing for a couple weeks. Games and Reading Comp. were alright, but difficult too. The writing section of the LSAT wasn't bad and I managed to write a sufficient amount with at least keeping my argument in tact. I just wish they'd grade the writing section, but at least the law schools I'm applying to will review it. Gosh, I hope it's alright. By the end of LSAT's, I just handed in my test and went my usual day of a couple meetings.
School is fine and 6 classes is just like whoa! One class I'm so in LOVE with is Corporate Bankruptcy and Takeovers. Taught by a kick ass professor and this class makes me feel like I'm in law school already. It's a corporate law class where we get to review cases dealing with corporate scandals, transactions, bankruptcy cases, and others. Yeah, it's supposedly an Economics class, but more of my taste for law school.
Speak of law school, I've received apps. from Columbia, Georgetown, Cardozzo, Brooklyn Law, Univ. of Maryland, Univ. of North Carolina, Univ. of Richmond, Boston College, and Catholic University. I have yet to receive more from NYU, UPENN, UVA, and a million other schools. Seriously, I am considering law school after Rutgers, but I am always thinking about getting a Masters in Public Policy at a prestigious school too or maybe working in NY or DC. We'll see.
Finally, the extracirricularrs are friggin awesome. KCC is the BEST ever! New people that I've got the pleasure to meet and make friends with. Assoc.of Int'l Rel. is sure as heck challenging me since I'm serving as Dir. of Comm. this year. Yeah, I LOVE it though and I am working well with all the other e-board and current members. Rutgers College Republicans is awesome too. Membership is increasing and I was appointed last month as an Executive Director. Wow, at least I'm getting a taste of being a e-board member for an Int'l club and a Political Party club. At least life after LSAT's has been getting back in order. Oh yeah, one more thing:
RMC'04, RUMUN'04, RMC'05, and now RUMUN'05!! Yes, my fourth straight conference that I made staff for!! I'm like the Chicago Bulls in their championship days in the 90's: "Fortitude with attitude." Plus, RUMUN'05 will be a very exciting year since there are so many new faces. I actually went to today's training session after I was done with LSAT's and it was really productive. A lot better than RMC'05 in my opinion. Oh yeah incase anyone's wondering, I'm an Assistant Director for the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development!! Yeah, I can't wait!!
Oh yeah, tomorrow I officially turn 21. So yeah, if any of you plan on surprising me with birthday cards/cake, feel free to. I am more than acceptable of having someone take me out for Korean food. Haha. Well, thanks to all of you for supporting me through these past few weeks. I hope I will be able to acheive my quest to law school. Until then, "Bis bald!"

A better pic of my adventure in Europe. Haha.
| Europe was so friggin awesome!! It was so awesome that I've decided to put a rundown of my adventure:
3085 miles traveled 2100 passengers and crew aboard Century Cruise 1000 different types of food 847 pictures taken during my European adventure 27 postcards mailed (a personal record) 14 day vacation aboard Century Cruise 7 countries visited (Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Gibraltar (UK)) 6 languages I learned during my adventure (Spanish, Portugeuse, Dutch, Flemish, Greek, and Italian) I do speak French and German fluently and to a certain extent 4 members of my family (father, mother, and two younger brothers) traveling with me 1 FCB Futbol Jersey made by Nike for 47 friggin Euros Endless memories of places, people, and cultures that I will never forget!
So yes, Europe was fun and now I'm back at Rutgers ready to kick ass and enjoy the tough semester ahead of me. I'll leave everyone with a nice pic from Monte Carlo, Monaco. The cute girl next to me is Meredith from South Carolina. Yeah, it was one of many endless reasons why my European adventure kicked ass! Peace.

I'll be at Rutgers tomorrow. See you all then. Haha.
Oh yeah, do say a prayer for the victims in Louisiana and other states affected by Hurricane Katrina. It is sad to see such horrific images like that and what many of the victims are going through. I was just shocked when I saw it myself. Peace.
| Hey all! Wow, August is officially here. I apologize for cursing in my
last entry. since I was pissed off about the NJCR Chairman scandal, but
I had to get it out of me. Anyways, here's a fun question that I'd like to hear responses from:
What do these following places have in common: Moscow, Helsinki, London, Montreal, Chicago, Virginia, and Washington DC??
Yeah, feel free to take a stab at it. Peace. Oh yeah, I've already
gotten one response from a law firm in EB I applied to for an
internship. I hope I get this one.

| Hey all, I can't believe I'm doing this xanga thing again. Well, if
it's time for a rant, then it better be a rant. Two interesting stories
have happened this past week. Lets get it on!

First of all, last night's nominee for the vacancy in the Supreme
Court. Well, President Bush nominated John
G. Roberts to replace Sandra Day O'Connor, who retired a
couple weeks ago. When I saw the announcement, I was a bit
confused because I thought Edith Clement, who serves as a judge for the
US Court Appeals for the 5th Circuit in New Orleans, was going to be a
possible replacement. I know the nation was expecting a woman to take
over and President Bush even mentioned current Attorney General Alberto
Gonzales as a possible replacement. I guess that didn't happen. I
guess choosing John Roberts is a good choice. He's an alum of both
Harvard College and Harvard Law (2nd ranked in the nation), has
defended against 39 cases before the Supreme Court, and has worked with
current Supreme Court member Judge William Rehnquist! Wow, that's some
serious credentials right there! I guess it's a matter of the Democrats
and the rest of Senate accepting this nomination! I hope they do
because he's a person who demonstrates highest integrity and is
appreciated and loved by his family and fellow peers. Anyways, I think
it'll be a good decision no matter what and if he is willing to be a
member for life in the Supreme Court and work with both Democrats and
Republicans, then it'll be a nice fit!
Ok, now to the other story that really pissed me off. So about
a week ago, the current NJCR's chairman, Steven Damion, resigned
from his position because not only has he had a bad relationship with
all of the e-board members, but also of alleged cases of embezzlement
and other fradulent charges that are brought against him. Well,
more of that story can be found in the Star Ledger:
http://www.nj.com/news/ledger/jersey/index.ssf?/base/news-0/1121316736302120.xml&coll=1.
Apparently, this motherfucker goes to the same school I do. That
is freakin embarassing. I talked to two of my friends from
Rutgers College Republicans who found out about this story
before I did and I was so fucking furiated when I heard that.
I mean, that fucking punk who I worked with at the Bill Spadea campaign
and who also embarrassed the shit out of me during my
time there finally got boot! Hell yeah! My prayer has been
answered!
Haha, yeah, whose laughing now motherfucker? I cannot believe this
idiot would do such a thing after campaigning with one of my good
friends, Joe, who also ran for NJCR's Treasurer. After they both
won in the NJCR's election, I think this is where the attitude of the
chairman and other e-board staff changed. Pretty much, Steve
parted ways with the rest of the e-board staff and was running his
own show. What the fuck man? I cannot believe this crap I am
hearing. Honestly, I thought this punk had a lot going for him
and stuff when I first met him. I guess it wasn't until he met his
fiancee that kinda changed his attitude. Seriously, cutting off the
rest of your e-board members is the dumbest idea ever! Politics is not
about greed and power, but I guess it was in Steve's view! Geez, that
low lying motherfucker is gonna feel the pain and shit of doing an
atrocious incident like that!!
Seriously, what kind of idiot would use the state funds from CR's to
pay for his fiancee's trip to DC for the National Chairman Election and
for the engagement ring? Seriously, I HATE hearing that shit! This is
why I never want to go into politics. You can be the smartest person in
the world, but by not keeping your integrity in tact, then you're a
dumb person! I just thank God and my family and friends that continue
to show me the right path every day! I mean I LOVE engaging into
political conversations and such, and am proud as heck to be a
Conservative Republican, but if people like Steve are gonna do that
shit, then I am not going to work with them! I don't deserve to work
with those types of people and I cannot stand that shit! In addition,
the whole proposing on stage to his fiancee after he won as NJCR's
chairman was even more stupid. I mean she already knew that he was
going to propose to her, so what the fuck kind of surprise was that??
Honestly, I hate that shit so much!
Actually, I hate his fiancee even more because of the crap she said
about me and the rest of the College Republicans! She even made fun of
the new president of Rutgers CR's, which got me really livid when I
heard that. Seriously, she is a piece of shit who only thinks of
herself and the high-material goods. Honestly, I don't like those
people. I mean I helped her with an English paper at one point that she
could not fucking write and is this how she pays me back and the rest
of my friends? Treat us like shit? And yeah, telling me I'm not
Conservative and I shouldn't listen to rap music! Well, shut the
fuck up! Seriously, I HATE that too! I mean I don't
have to be some fucking show off to be a Conservative because as long
as I have my ideologies in tact about Conservatism and work well with
other fellow Conservatives, then I'm proud to keep that in my
heart. In addition, what does listening to rap music have
anything to do with me not being or acting Conservative?? Seriously,
that is the sickest and stupidest reason that I have heard from a
fucking moron. I am eclectic with music and I listen to whatever gets
me going. If she can't handle that either, then really, shut the fuck
up! I don't deal with those people either and I don't have time for
that. Seriously, she is one friggin asshole that doesn't even deserve
to be a part of College Republicans! I cannot deal with those people.
Ok, I think I've cursed enough and I better chill out. Hmm...some
rap music like LL Cool J, Chuck D, Nas, DMX, or EPMD, and LSAT's/law
school stuff will calm me down a bit. I think I need to focus more on
my own goals than some stupid incident that is causing media attention.
I guess this situation has taught me to be careful with who I meet
in life, and despite what I hear about politics and corruption, I'll
just remember to not lose my integrity! Ciao!
On a good note, I'm applying for an internship at a law firm in East
Brunswick, Philadelphia, and for US Attorney General Christopher
Christie since I want to start exposing myself to working at a law firm
or something like it. I figured while it's early, I better apply for an
internship in either Spring or Summer 2006. I pray that I at least get
one. | | |
